Took a ride to the Hachinohe Botanical Gardens. I'm not sure how many acres are here. But admission is free! There is the overlook area, childrens land, a small petting zoo (where you don't actually get to pet the animals) and of course gardens.
You pay a small fee for the rides, but they are low priced, so well worth it.
Oddly, I have yet to see the gardens. We spent so much time in kids land and the overlook that we were tired. Andi's class took a field trip there last week, I still haven't seen the gardens.
Well, we did get into one greenhouse while we were here, as you can see in the above picture.
an overlook of the open play area of the gardens
Lots of picnicers around. People pick their spots, and leave their items. No fear of anything disappearing.
Andi playing in one of the water features. If there's water around, she'll find a way to get into it.
A grandfather (ojiisan) watching his grand-daughter on the merry go round.

Apparently the little girl saw me with the camera and posed!
Overlook viewpoint. Hachinohe is in the far background.
A large SLOW moving ferris wheel. It gave a great view. Andi's main worry was what if the wind started to blow. A valid fear, as the wind does blow a lot here.

Just a picture of life going on around us at the Gardens.
